Поставил john, запустил - получил ошибку:

execv: /usr/libexec/john/john-non-sse: No such file or directory
Sorry, SSE2 is required

Похоже, что при установке некоторые бинарники должны оказаться в

/usr/libexec/john/

вместо этого они ставятся в

/usr/lib/john/
