Хотелось бы видеть в сизифе более свежую версию, т.к. например roundcube хочет не менее 1.5, а на 1.4 без патча не работает.

1.5.0b2 (beta) was released on 2009-01-14 (Changelog)

Есть подозрение, что он для работы требует свежего pear-MDB2, об этом же говорится и вот здесь:
