Running &quot;modprobe -r snd-intel8x0&quot; causes something like an exponential forking. 
 
Kernel 2.6.24-std-def-alt6 is used:

My lsmod can be seen in the attached typescript. That typescript illustrates my
attempt to find the loop by --dry-run. It seems to me that I found it, unless I
don&apos;t understand how modprobe works; for example, removing &quot;snd-mixer-oss&quot; is
repeated in my typescript.



Expected Results:  
There is no loop.</thetext>

Perhaps I&apos;m not right about &quot;exponential&quot; (in my typescript, I haven&apos;t explored
the other call branches), but anyway it produces an infinitely growing number of
 modprobe processes.</thetext>
