    <thetext>there&apos;s some USBstorage related instability observed with 2.6.25-std-def and later kernels; looks like the device attached gets scanned, accepted, then dropped (the process then runs in circles).

dmesg from 2.6.28-lks-wks-alt0.9 which behaves similarly (as well as 26-wks and some std-ng kernel I tried too):
