It's probably a 2.8.x release of darcs that must have this feature. And Sisyphus has it -- http://packages.altlinux.org/en/Sisyphus/srpms/ghc7.6.1-darcs . (I've not hit it because I've been using darcs-2.1.2-alt2.)
