    <thetext>It&apos;s been reported that trying to boot ALT Workstation 8.2&apos;s rescue part under UEFI results in black screen while standalone ALT Rescue does work.

We&apos;ve reproduced the problem and it looks like it&apos;s the plymouth bits that get
into rescue&apos;s initrd cause it.

*Probably* we should:
1) make sure there are no plymouth components in rescue&apos;s initrd,
OR
2) at least make sure plymouth is disabled via kernel command line for rescue.

The workaround is to switch over a few consoles to find the one that&apos;s active
(Ctrl-Alt-F[123], Alt-&lt;left&gt;/&lt;right&gt; should do).</thetext>
