I use apt-shell for managing packages.

But some useful possibilities are missing. I'd like to be able to do some rpm
queries while I'm working with apt-shell (to decide what to do with packages).
For example, `rpm -V apt-utils' when apt-shell is running.

I see 2 possible solutions:

(1) running external rpm command from a parallel shell;
(2) running an rpm query from inside apt-shell (by providing some apt-shell
command for this).

Now, (1) (doing the queries by a separate rpm command) is not possible because
of the lock apt-shell puts on the database.

(2) is not implemented, of course.</thetext>
