After installing php5 and modules mbsting, mcrypt and mysql, corresponding .ini files for the modules are missing from /etc/php/5.2.11/apache2-mod_php/php.d, but are present in /etc/php/5.2.11/cli/php.d.

Do you have apache2-mod_php5 package installed?

Most likely it is php-base issue. Changing component...
