$ git-init-db
$ gear-srpmimport <tetex-2.0-*>
$ gear-srpmimport ~/RPM/SRPMS/tetex-3.0-alt1.src.rpm
fatal: Out of memory, malloc failed
# On branch refs/heads/srpms
# fatal: Out of memory, malloc failed
# nothing to commit

Воспроизводится стабильно на разных машинах. 
Размер git-архива к моменту импорта 3.0 порядка 112 Мб, 
размер 3.0-srpm -- 90 Мб.

Выдержка из --verbose:

...

Надо подрастить лимит на виртуальную память, 2G должно хватить.

Действительно. Спасибо. 
Можно закрывать (как INVALID), наверное. 
Вроде как не предусмотрен в bugzilla отказ reporter'а от бага.
