In the default installation of Desktop 4.0.3, the simple well-known "ftp" command-line FTP client is missing. (As well as "pftp".)

That's very strange (for jhose who are used to UNIX).

I suggest to add this small package.

(Workaround: "lftp".)

I made a mistake in the original report: this is about Lite 4.0.3 -- ftp://ftp.altlinux.ru/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/4.0/Desktop/4.0.3/iso/altlinux-4.0.3-lite-i586-install_ru-cd.iso

Мне всё равно в принципе, могу понять и то, как им пользоваться. (Но кто-то может очень привык в работе с традиционным ftp.)

Но самая большая проблема -- это узнать название "lftp". Набираешь в shell-е "ftp" или "pftp" -- а такой команды нет, не знаешь, что делать.

Поэтому я предлагаю либо добавить ftp в дистрибутив, либо сделать ссылку с /usr/bin/ftp на lftp, либо альтернативы на /usr/bin/ftp.
