А Альте firefox, firefox-esr и firefox-gost взаимно конфликтуют. Также профиль современного firefox обратно не совместим с firefox-esr и firefox-gost, но в текущей сборке профиль используется общий. 
Вот здесь https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mozilla-daily/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+packages патчи, которые отделяют и профиль в отдельную папку (~/.mozilla/firefox --> ~/.mozilla/firefox-trunk), и позволяют ставить firefox-trunk параллельно с firefox.

Т.к. firefox-gost стар, в реальной среде может потребоваться иметь свежий Firefox для других задач.
