The call to /etc/X11/Xsession is present twice in the startup scripts for X: /etc/X11/xinit/Xclients and /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc. As a consequence, ~/Desktop/Autostart/* are run two times.

---
Put \"ssh-add\" to ~/Desktop/Autostart/ssh-add, make it executable and startx. You\'ll get two prompts requesting the passwrod.
---
xinitrc-2.4.7-alt1

It looks like local misconfiguration:
these scripts (/etc/X11/xinit/Xclients and /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc) aren\'t normally used together.

Yes, they are not. That was my fault: I didn\'t see a second ssh-add in ~/Desktop/Autostart/ (a backup file).
