В полностью обновленный из апдейтов Desktop 4.0.1 невозможно утсноавить
xorg-x11-xnest. 
Steps to Reproduce:
1.sudo apt-get install xorg-x11-xnest

Actual Results:  
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that

в Desktop 4.0.1 и в апдейтах к нему нет xorg-x11-xnest
