Description Ivan Zakharyaschev 2008-12-29 21:48:04 MSK
emacs22-X11-gtk-22.2-alt5 in Desktop 4.1.1RC 2008/11/15

In X, one can select a region by holding Shift, "copy" it by Ctrl-Ins, and "paste" it by Shift-Ins (pc-selection-mode).

But in the Linux console, this doesn't work (it's a pity for those who use these combinations because they can't work uniformly in X and in the console).

mcedit from mc-4.6.2-alt7.pre1 proves that such behaviour is possible in the console.

Expected: pc-selection works in X and in the console.

Inside rxvt-unicode-9.02-alt1 in KDE, pc-selection also doesn't work properly:

Shift-arrows work (they select the region),
Ctrl-Ins -- I don't know,
Shift-Ins -- inserts a wrong selection (previously selected in the terminal; perhaps, because Ctrl-Ins hasn't actually performed "copy" or because of another reason);

Shift-Del deletes the region as expected, but I don't know whether it actually saves it in the memeory, because a Shift-Ins after a Shift-Del inserts another text (something previously selected in the terminal).

В 4.1/branch исправления не будут вноситься уже технически (заглушена очередь на сборку), поэтому прошу ошибки, актуальные для sisyphus/p7/t7, перевесить на текущие ветки или сизиф.
