Desktop 4.1.1RC 2008/11/15 installation is missing the recode program.

It's a convenient program which many are used to.

For example, its advantage compared to iconv is the ability to write the short command:

recode koi8-r..

and it will deduce the target encoding from the locale.

I suggest to install recode by default.
