I wanted to make an installation/live USB disk for Simply Linux beta 2011-08-10 -- ftp://ftp.altlinux.ru/pub/beta/p6/simply/altlinux-6.0.0_beta20110811-simply-i586-ru-live-cd.iso (to be able to install it on a computer where the CD doesn't boot -- https://bugzilla.altlinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26043 ), but the convenient mkbootflash script was absent in the live system.

I suggest to add it for the convenience of people who are installing the distro.

It is a hybrid iso, so you can write it to a flash just in this way:
dd if=simply.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=1024
