+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #29696 +++

The input area of the search box (at the wiki http://www.altlinux.org ) is not visible in w3m or emacs-w3m. So, it's impossible to go to a specific page (by name) in these text-mode browsers.

w3m-0.5.2-alt3.3
emacs-w3m-1.5-alt0.1.20120203

In some other text-mode browsers, this area is visible: lynx-2.8.6-alt7.rel.2 , elinks-0.12-alt0.9 .

This is similar to the bug of w3m not showing a text-box for Gmail/Google authentication from a while ago.

Here is that Gmail sign-in bug: https://bugzilla.altlinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29498 .
Comment 3 Ivan Zakharyaschev 2017-09-23 12:41:26 MSK
The problem persists with w3m-0.5.3-alt1 . (But the search on the wiki works in elinks-0.12-alt0.11 , so it is in principle possible in console browsers.)

The same problem can be observed now at https://en.wikipedia.org , too.
