Вот вырезка из Mandrake-russian. Я же, заглянув в этот файл ужаснулся, т.к. там еще полно подобных ошибок.

Ну, разумеется! Достаточно строчку
&lt;console&gt; 0600 &lt;sound&gt; 0660 root.audio
исправить на
&lt;console&gt; 0660 &lt;sound&gt; 0660 root.audio
Оказывается, элементарно!
(но не вполне очевидно...)
