The homepage https://google.github.io/snappy/ is out of date:
it says the latest release is 1.1.3,
while https://github.com/google/snappy says 1.1.7 was released in 2017.

Fedora snappy is 1.1.7 with patches:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/snappy/
