С 2009 года проект успел переехать на https://github.com/astrand/xclip и выпустить версию 0.13, в которой, в частности, была добавлена опция `-target`, позволяющая помещать в буфер обмена не только простой текст, а, например, `text/html` или даже `image/png`.
