Шаги:
Установить пакет
# apt-get install liquidctl

Инициализировать
# liquidctl initialize
Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0 5702 Controller
├── Hardware name       IT5701-GIGABYTE V3.5.5.0  
└── Firmware version                     3.5.5.0  

Отключить подсветку
#  liquidctl set sync color off

Результат: Ничего не происходит
Ожидаемый результат: RGB подсветка отключилась

Дополнительно:
Руководствовался https://github.com/liquidctl/liquidctl/blob/main/docs/gigabyte-rgb-fusion2-guide.md

Устройство должно подходить, но управление подсветкой не работает.

выложите лог команды liquidctl list -g

Похоже, это проблемы конкретной платы или версии прошивки, на моей плате (B550 AORUS ELITE V2) все работает:

lakostis in ? lks in ~ 
❯ sudo liquidctl initialize
Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0 5702 Controller

lakostis in ? lks in ~ 
❯ sudo liquidctl set sync color off
(и подсветка отключается)

Какая версия BIOS на этой материнской плате, воспроизводится ли проблема с последней версией?
