Before running drakconf, Russian letters are there (linux console). After just starting it and pressing \&quot;Cancel\&quot;, the console gets spoilt. Russian letters can\'t be viewed any more.

This doesn\'t depend on whether drakconf is started in C locale or ru_RU.KOI8-R, or whether under root login session or from a user session by means of consolehelper or sudo.

$ drakconf
# check again -- we get pseudographics.
$ LANG=ru_RU.KOI8-R date
