Пробую подключиться через jdbc к postgresql базе Подключение проходит успешно, но при попытке открыть любую таблицу - Base стабильно обваливается :( openoffice.org-2.2.0-alt2 java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0.01-alt1.1 postgresql8.1-server-8.1.8-alt3 postgresql-8.1-408.jdbc3.jar
попробуйте удалить java-1.6 и установить j2se1.5-sun
пробовал с j2se1.5-sun-1.5.0.11-alt4 обваливается тоже :(
во первых postgresql-8.1-408.jdbc3.jar с java-1.6 работать и не должен. см. http://jdbc.postgresql.org/download.html#jdbcselection теперь рассказывайте как настраивали соединение через JDBC

да он никак не работает ни так ни сяк настройки прилагаю тестовое соединение (да и реальное) происходит нормально драйвер тоже подгружается
$ /usr/lib/OpenOffice.org2/program/soffice.bin -base и давайте то что оно вывалит в консоль

X IO Error у вас воспроизводится? можете к postgresql подключиться? или моя локальная проблема?
postgresql у меня нет, с mysql через jdbc работает

проверяйте на >=alt4
