vgetty не может записать в shell log, пишет
vgetty: couldn\'t open() shell log file \"/var/log/mgetty/vgetty_voice_shell.ttyS0\": No such file or directory

В файле /etc/mgetty+sendfax/voice.conf в строке:
voice_shell_log \"/var/log/vgetty_voice_shell.%s\"
Кавычки лишние. Оно не может из-за них вести логи.

Quotes removed. Also added vgetty.8 manual missing in previous build.
