The info page says install has --target-dircetory option, but install doesn\'t accept it as valid. --- touch a; mkdir d; install --target-directory d a install: unrecognized option `--target-directory\' Попробуйте `install --help\' для получения более подробного описания. --- $ rpm -qf $(which install) coreutils-4.5.3-alt1
I have no answer from coreutils maintainers on this subject so far. So it\'s probably a documentation typo.
I hope it\'s not a typo. I think the intention to have --target-dierctory option in coreutils where possible is very good; it makes using coreutils with xargs simpler.
Finally I\'ve got written confirmation from one of coreutils maintainers (Jim Meyering): --- I planned to do it when I implemented it for those other commands, but never got around to it, then forgot :-) Thanks for pointing it out. I\'ve just added it to the TODO list. ---
Implemented in cvs, so will be available in the next version.
Available in coreutils-5.3.0-alt0.1
