I found no way to import photos from a photo camera to an image-viewing program. The camera is "Canon Powershot S3 IS" connected via USB.

Just for information: On another system (with a not fresh Sisyphus), I was able to access the camera by running gthumb-2.10.8-alt1 (with libgphoto2-2.4.0-alt2.svn10945) as root, and doing "File" > "Import Photos".

So, I suggest that the default image viewer in Lite (gqview) also has an option to import photos from a camera (and that it works under a user, not root).

BTW, in Desktop 4.1, digikam was able to import photos from the camera.

Так недоумение было по поводу варианта Lite, а не Desktop. Да, в Desktop есть digikam, что неудивительно, и оно решает задачу. А что решает задачу в Lite?
