Description Ivan Zakharyaschev 2009-04-09 21:55:48 MSD
evince-2.22.2-alt0.M41.1
emacs22-common-22.2-alt5
emacs-mode-auctex-11.85-alt1

As described in https://bugzilla.altlinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19557 , in the situation when evince is installed, Emacs+AUCTeX doesn't know it can use it to view DVI or PDF (produced from TeX source).

evince should put a scriptlet into /etc/emacs/site-start.d/ to set the appropriate variables and inform Emacs that it can be used. Example: tetex-xdvi does put such a scriptlet.

Это не поможет: эти переменные сейчас не используются в auctex. Там используется другая схема с проверкой типа генерируемого файла, используемых пакетов и других прелестей.
