Created attachment 4106 [details] Result of: zip имя2.zip имя.txt xarchiver-0.5.2-alt1 zip-2.32-alt2 unzip-6.0-alt2 xarchiver can't extract files with Russian names from .zip (at least, in ru_RU.CP1251). How to reproduce: $ locale LANG=ru_RU.CP1251 LC_CTYPE="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_NUMERIC="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_TIME="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_COLLATE="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_MONETARY="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_MESSAGES="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_PAPER="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_NAME="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_ADDRESS="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_TELEPHONE="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_MEASUREMENT="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_IDENTIFICATION="ru_RU.CP1251" LC_ALL= $ echo a > имя.txt $ zip имя2.zip имя.txt adding: имя.txt (stored 0%) $ xarchiver имя2.zip It shows the following error message hwen trying to view or extract the included file: "Произошла ошибка! Проверьте параметр «Сохранять сообщения архиватора» чтобы увидеть это.". Also, the filename is not correctly displayed inside xarchiver: èìÿ.txt Workaround: use "unzip".
More info: if the "verbose" mode of xarchiver is enabled (as advised in the error message), the we read the following: Archive: /home/mama/tech-problems/zip-Russian/имя2.zip caution: filename not matched: èìÿ.txt
So neither archive manager with GUI (file-roller or xarchiver) is working well with Russian filenames: cf. https://bugzilla.altlinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22462 -- either the problem is with a Russian name of an included file, or with a Russian name of the archive file. :(
