Description Mikhail Zabaluev 2003-05-09 17:19:06 MSD

I have Rubik screensaver chosen. Once when screensaver has fired up it started barfing many identical error messages, something about \&quot;unrecognized message WM_PROTOCOLS\&quot;. This flood interrupted screensaver animation at regular intervals.
Mouse movements and button presses couldn\'t interrupt the malfunctioning screensaver.

More precise layout of the messages:

unrecognized ClientMessage \&quot;WM_PROTOCOLS\&quot; received
for window 0x48 (root)

What windowmanager? Do you have this problem with latest (4.11-alt1) xsreensaver?

The WM is Metacity.
With the recent metacity, xscreensaver and XFree86 the problem doesn\'t manifest itself.
