в /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf отсутствует параметр UseSTARTTLS и его описание.
в /usr/share/doc/ssmtp-2.60.9/TLS он описан, и работает. А вот в конфиге его нет.

$rpm -qa | grep ssmtp
ssmtp-2.60.9-alt2.3
