При попытке почитать man на manedit - ошибка:
$ man manedit
fgets: Нет такого файла или каталога
Error reading man page /usr/share/man/man1/manedit.1
No manual entry for manedit

оказывается файл нулевой:
$ ls -l /usr/share/man/man1/manedit.1
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Ноя  7 12:39 /usr/share/man/man1/manedit.1

Починил. Не понял кто виноват, толи наш make, толи наш sed
