Как я понимаю, сейчас вообще не возможно удалить "лишние" драйвера принтеров, 
потому что они вытягиваются printer-drivers-base

# apt-get remove hplip-foomatic

Ну так printer-drivers-base должен же теперь по идее удаляться без проблем.
P.S. таких модулей альтератор больше нет.
