добавить -kernel inetrc \\\"/etc/ejabberd/inetrc\\\" в init-script
и создать файл /etc/ejabberd/inetrc:

# cat inetrc
{file, resolv, "/etc/resolv.conf"}.

Без этого не работает сообщение с GTalk.
