Description imz 2002-10-11 20:26:41 MSD
Sometimes (say, every 10th time) no messages appear after \'Entering runlevel 5\' while booting.

After a pause, you see the login prompt (with the tux image) and then an empty screen (X should be started at this moment).

Somehow after all this I manage to get into runlevel 3 and restart X.

The corresponding log message is like this:

/dev/console: Input/Output error

which appears after the message \'Entering runlevel 5\'.

/var/log/messages for this boot are attached.

I do not know how to reproduce this.

I don\'t know how to reproduce this.
Btw, we now use another X startup scheme.
