Чтобы можно было использовать sources.list вида:

rpm [alt] file:/ALT/Sisyphus $(ARCH) classic
rpm [alt] file:/ALT/Sisyphus noarch classic

Надо выставлять APT::Architecture в значение, которое передаётся через --target.
 Тогда с одним apt.conf/sources.list можно собирать пакеты под разные архитектуры.
