# apt-get install firebird-classic
# cp /home/enp/mydb.fdb /var/lib/firebird/
# chown firebird: /var/lib/firebird/mydb.fdb 
# service xinetd start
# fbsql -user sysdba -password masterkey localhost:/var/lib/firebird/mydb.fdb
Statement failed, SQLCODE = -902
cannot attach to password database

да, в случае superserver аналогичной проблемы не наблюдается

Уже заменил на (менее удобный в моем случае) SS, поэтому не скажу :(

лечится очень просто:
mkdir -p /var/run/firebird/
