ни в одной менюшке (из тех, что получилось достичь) буквы не отображаются.
пробовал с вынесенными ~/warzone*, в локали ru_RU.KOI8-R и C.

на всяк случай, fonts-ttf-dejavu наличествует

Не получилось воспроизвести. В текущей сизифной версии наблюдается?

с 2.2.4 не воспроизводится
