ALT Linux Bugzilla – #23236

$ rpm -qf /usr/share/man/man8/ip.8.bz2
iproute2-2.6.23-alt2
$

"man ip" shows the following:

       Route tables: Linux-2.x can pack routes into several routing tables identified by a number in the range from 1 to 255 or by name from the file
       /etc/iproute2/rt_tables main table (ID 254) and the kernel only uses this table when calculating routes.

whereas the source has more text at this place hwich makes sense:

.P
.B Route tables:
Linux-2.x can pack routes into several routing
tables identified by a number in the range from 1 to 255 or by
name from the file
.B /etc/iproute2/rt_tables
. By default all normal routes are inserted into the
.B main
table (ID 254) and the kernel only uses this table when calculating routes.

man-1.6f-alt1 (and man-1.6f-alt11 from Sisyphus) reproduce this.
