kernel-modules-alsa-un-def-2.6.32-alt5 libalsa-1.0.23-alt2 # lspci | fgrep -i audio 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02) # (It's a Sony Vaio.) Recording (more correct: capturing) of sound doesn't work (I have tried all combinations of the input (capture) controls in the mixer). It's quite surprising, because if I turn on the _output_ control for the microphone, the sound is indeed echoed to the output. Tested with a plugged-in microphone with: arecord from aplay-1.0.21-alt1, audacity-1.3.7-alt1, skype-2.1.0.81-alt1. Recording under 2.6.30-std-def-alt15 works. (So, this is a workaround for the 5.1 branch. But that kernel, as respects sound, has the problem https://bugzilla.altlinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23705 .)
Another option in the 5.1 branch is kernel-modules-alsa-el-smp-2.6.32-alt10 , but there is no sound at all with that kernel -- https://bugzilla.altlinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25001 ; so, el-smp-2.6.32-alt10 is not a workaround for this problem in the 5.1 branch.
This is also true for kernel-modules-alsa-std-def-2.6.32-alt20.M50P.1 from p5 -- https://bugzilla.altlinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25005 : sound is not recorded.
