Особое внимание в этом вопросе стоит уделить тому, что после выполнения
rpm --setugids package
будут не только выставлены владельцы у всех файлов, как в базе rpm, но и будут сняты биты uid/gid, если у файла ранее был другой владелец/группа, нежели в базе rpm.

Это достаточно редко встречающаяся ситуация, но при синхронизации данных сервера на новый (с переносом старых пользователей с /etc/passwd, /etc/group, /etc/tcb) об этом лучше знать заранее.
