Так как инициализация переменных (таких как mountpoints) в hsh-sh-functions.in осуществляется после чтения параметров из ~/.hasher/config, значение переменных затирается.

Переменная mountpoints, равно как и все остальные переменные, упомянутые после "### End configuration variables", не предназначены для переопределения с помощью ~/.hasher/config

Почему тогда mountpoints не описаны в hasher-priv(8)?
Или этот параметр настраивается исключительно как аргумент командной строки?

Потому что сейчас это реализовано поверх hasher-priv.

Да, и для "hsh --mountpoints" этот параметр называется $known_mountpoints.
