xxkb-1.6 (build from Junior 1.1 at least) doesn\'t react to /usr/X11/lib/X11/app-defaults/XXkb -- couldn\'t make it use dock icon etc, and other things seem to be \"by default\".

Will try to strace it and update bug report.

xxkb tries to use /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/lang.charset/app-defaults/XXkb file first.
