systemctl start dictd.service

а в ответ тишина десятки секунд, в результате

systemd[1]: PID file /var/run/dictd.pid not readable (yet?) after start.

BTW его бы обновить (но желательно не сломать) -- вроде бы вся нужная ч-инфраструктура в сизифе уже есть.

У меня всё работает.

% sudo systemctl status dictd.service

Ну после % sudo systemctl start dictd.service
