In certain circumstances, filereq may miss some output reported by strace. 
For example, 
 
29011 execve("/usr/bin/nsgmls", ["/usr/bin/nsgmls", "-ifmthtml"], [/* 38 vars 
*/] <unfinished ...> 
29011 <... execve resumed> )            = 0
