Не работает отладка для Python'а из-за того,
что при запуске не находит модуль pydb.
Это хорошо видно так:

 strace ddd --pydb  2>&1|grep pydb

Помогает ссылка
ln -s /usr/bin/pydb.py /usr/bin/pydb
