# /etc/init.d/autofs start
# /etc/init.d/autofs status
automount is stopped

В чём же дело?
# sh -x /etc/init.d/autofs start
...
 fgrep -qs autofs /proc/filesystems
+ modprobe autofs4
+ RETVAL=1
+ return 1
+ exit 1

Что ожидается: сообщение об ошибке загрузки модуля.
