The apt indicator applet which is extremely usefull to notify updates to simple user not found on Gnome3-p9 starterkit or Sisyphus...

apt-indicator not needed in starterkits.

Okay i see. Can it be installed then from the package manager on Gnome?

It could be great to be able to install it at least... This applet is exellent to update the systhem daily...Gnome software does not allow updates and Synaptic is broken on wayland... So apt-indicator would do the job perfectly...

And sudo apt-get install apt-indicator is not finding the package...

apt-get update
apt-get install apt-indicator

That installs apt-indicator, true.
But the applet is not poping up or fonctionning normally under gnome3....
