В Gnome в сессии wayland Timeshift-gtk не срабатывает с иконки, стартует окно ввода пароля, после ввода ни чего не происходит. Из консоли $sudo timeshift-gtk или timeshift-launcher стартует и работает. В сессии Gnome X11 всё работает. xorg-xwayland установлен.

Проверил на системе ALT Workstation 11.0alpha в сессиях GNOME и Альт GNOME (обе на wayland): успешный запуск timeshift из меню приложений и из закреплённого значка на панели приложений.
