В audacity по умолчанию указан каталог /tmp для временных файлов, а должен 
быть ~/tmp

По-хорошему должен быть фолбэк $TMPDIR->$TMP->/tmp; ~/tmp может и не оказаться.

В текущем audacity-2.0.3-alt1 это /var/tmp/audacity-$USER (755); в любом случае предложенная формулировка бага сейчас может как раз привести к багам.
