install3 ignores the "1024x768" setting from boot menu and goes to (autodetected
maximal?) resolution of 1600x1200 -- quite bad for one's eyes on SyncMaster
755DFX (60Hz).

would be ideal to _use_ the input if the resolution was chosen at boot stage
_manually_.

it is important to use same heuristics for the target system's X server setup
and installer, if at all possible.  Or put upper limit on the resolution since
high one isn't really needed in installer.

упс, хозяин машинки работает.  может, вечером доберусь -- или тебе тот же
монитор с другой видимокартой сойдёт в данном разе?
